MAC Studio Fix Fluid Review

After careful consideration I decided to go the MAC store purchase the studio fix fluid.

I've tried many foundations in the past but haven't really found anything special. So I went to my local MAC store and was matched to an NC 30 and it looked great in the store very natural and glowing.

After reading many reviews it seems that a lot of people have had breakouts because of this foundation and having acne prone skin myself I was a bit sceptical judging from the smell of the foundation I thought I would break out from the smell alone, but it didn't break me out which was a surprise.

However the next day when I applied my foundation in the morning and seeing it in the full daylight, it didn’t look the same. The colour was much lighter and compared to my neck it didn't match at all. So I returned it for the shade NC 37 which was a closer match.

NC 37
Overall I would say that it is a good foundation, the coverage is medium to full and on most days I need less than a pump to cover my entire face, I also set it with a powder and it gives a quite natural look. The less you apply the more natural it looks, it’s fairly easy to blend but can look cakey if you apply too much. The downside for me is that the yellow undertones are a bit too strong and sometimes I just find it looking orangey. Also it makes dry patches look a lot worse and harder to blend in. I would give this foundation 3.5 / 5.
